Céline Fall 2014 Collection: Lean, Mean Céline

Céline Fall 2014 Collection

What’s more exciting than new Céline bags hitting the shelves? For Fall, Phoebe continues with her commitment to keen colorblocking. But as you know, these aren’t flash-in-the-pan combinations; a muted array of shades ensure they’re always more classic than trendy.

Ms. Philo also maintains her dedication to certain beloved styles in smooth calfskin yet still manages to induct some new originals into her personal hall of fame. The Belt bag ($2,600) is a brand-new shape but it is still unmistakably and undeniably Céline, a product of simple arithmetic: one-part Phantom, two-parts Luggage, and two-parts Trapeze. A flourish of a symmetrically knotted belt gives it notice-me emphasis while still feeling perfectly minimal.

Remember the original “pocket book?” It was a top-handled bag with a pocket that ladies carried for their money and lipstick, back in an era when that was all required of us. Now the 21st century’s Pocket handbag ($2,300), topped with a doubled-up chain-strap, carries a bit more, including a smart phone and credit card, and it couldn’t feel more modern.

Last but not least, the Hobo bag ($2,450), comprised of a clean lines and a simply circular shape. We’ve said this before and we will say this again, Céline makes the best hobo hands down. No contest. This rounds up my Céline Fall 2014 wish list. What’s on yours? Call Doris at Céline for inquiries, at 305-866-1888.

  1. So gorgeous! If only all three could magically appear in my wardrobe. :)

I’ve had my hands on the Belt bag. Gorgeous but the flap is difficult to open and close securely. If you don’t latch the flap, the handle pulls the flap upward and exposes the hardware….ruining the look. Oh, how is wanted to love this and add it to my collection I think I must pass. :(
