Jeff Koons for H&M: Old Balloon Dog, New Tricks

Jeff Koons for H&M

Tomorrow, H&M will open its largest store to date, and to celebrate, they brought in artist Jeff Koons to curate the look of the six-story flagship. Not only that, they’ve miniaturized his famous $58.4 million Balloon Dog sculpture (the most expensive piece ever sold by a living artist) into a limited edition bag! It may not be art as we know it, but as Koons explains, “Art is something that is accessible. We interact with it all the time and H&M makes fashion the same way.”

This collaboration coincides with his retrospective at the Whitney Museum, which you can win free tickets to at the store’s grand opening. $10-$1,000 gift cards will also be given out to the first 1,000 people, so head on over to 589 5th Ave. (at 48th St.) at noon to see how Koons does H&M! Jeff Koons for H&M Balloon Dog (Yellow) leather bag will be available then in select stores and on HM.com for $49.95.
