KIND Healthy Snacks Launches New Grains, Fruit & Nut Clusters

I’m a snacker – I’m not one to sit and eat breakfast or lunch so aside from dinner I rarely sit down for a proper meal. The problem is that most “healthy” snacks really aren’t that healthy, especially because most of them are hugely addictive so you can easily end up consuming 600-plus calories between meals without even noticing. Sure carrots, celery, apples etc. are always reliable go-tos, and when I’m stressed and aware that I’m going to be mindlessly eating I try to limit myself to fruits and veggies (still trying to master the conscious eating thing…), but sometimes those staples get old!

KIND Healthy Snacks has just launched a variety of new bar flavors as well as new additions to their Grains, Fruit & Nut Clusters – and they’re delicious (you might also noticed that they’ve changed their packaging…). They’re all made with a blend of gluten-free oats, millet, quinoa, amaranth, and buckwheat, and all the ingredients are things you can actually pronounce – i.e. no sketchy chemicals. My favorite of the new flavor additions are their Banana Nut Clusters, which have pecans and cinnamon (cinnamon is such a powerhouse and helps curb your appetite). The problem is that while the ingredients list is clean, it’s very important to remember that these are not low calorie snacks! While 110 calories may not seem like a lot, that’s only for 29g, and odds are you’ll be eating closer to 60g, if not more. The good news is, even if you double or even triple the calories, the sugar and fat levels stay low, making this a way better choice than pretty much every mainstream granola. It’s also low in sodium (because both salt and sugar are addictive, many manufacturers put salt in sweet products and then cover up the salty flavor with even more sugar – no so here). These clusters have been a go-to for me, but I just need to watch my portion size because I can umm…easily eat half the bag or more…
