Milan Fashion Week Spring 2015 Trend Alert: Neutral Lip

The natural trend that started in New York and continued in London was also prevalent in Milan, but it was mainly focused on the lips. A number of designers went with elaborate eye and/or hair looks, but kept the lips matte and neutral. Here’s a look at some of the standouts!

Fendi bks A RS15 6373

Fendi showed 3-D blue eyes (made from blue leather swatches!), but used nothing but Dior Nude Rougeicon, which has a semi sheer finish, for the lips. This is a perfect every day casual shade.

Jil Sander bks A RS15 1557

Jil Sander was one of the few designers that didn’t part their models’ hair in the middle instead opting for a side part with a neutral, matte lip. I’m always fan of a little gloss or shimmer, but for a great matte check out Armani Lip Maestro. It’s moisturizing and not as dull as many of the other matte colors you find.

Cavalli bks M RS15 7641

Surprisingly it wasn’t a black smoky eye this year at Cavalli. Instead models had a brown smokey eye with silver highlights. Lips were bare, again so as to not overpower. It just goes to show sometimes there’s nothing better than a little bit of lip balm to keep lips moisturized and that’s it! It’s not particularity chic, but I swear by Blistex to keep my lips soft. I love the ointment, but if I’m spending a lot of time outside I make sure to use the one with SPF as lips are particularly sensitive.
