Waxing Kara: A Beekeeper’s Artisanal Beauty Line

lovely-package-waxing-kara-32

The name of this brand, Waxing Kara, is a little bit misleading. It’s not actually some sort of at-home waxing brand…or am I the only one who thought that?! The company was started by a beekeeper so in addition to selling honey, it sells a line of beautifully packaged products made with the founder’s honey which she cultivates at a farm on the Eastern Shore. She also harvests her own lavender. It’s worth noting that Kara has to date raised/donated in excess of $170,000 to Delmarva Community Services (supporting programs likes ones that teach at-risk youth the art of photojournalism), and a portion of all profits made from Waxing Kara will be donated. The brand stocks a range of ready-to-gift sets (awesome housewarming/hostess gifts), lip tints, candles, beautiful jars of honey, body butter, body scrub, bar soap and more, and prices are mid-range (comparable to L’Occitane). Rosh Hashanah is just around the corner  🙂

  1. I lived on the eastern shore last year while my home in Florida was being built ( moved from LA). Waxing Kara is just one of a long list of great artisanal product lines produced on the shore. The eastern shore is a secret gem with many beautiful small (village type) towns. Many politicians from DC, writers, actors and artists have homes there. I have purchased wonderful organic foods, hand made goat milk soaps and home spun wool goods made by locals. Amazing products can be had as well as fabulous antiques. It is sort of an American version of Tuscany or Provence.
