Emanuel Ungaro Triangle Clutch: Tri Something New

Emanuel Ungaro Triangle Clutch

Emanuel Ungaro, is that you? I barely recognized you! Granted, it has been a while since I’ve seen a bag of theirs worthy of paying some real attention. But the cool, exciting shape of their three-dimensional Triangle clutch is enough to get me to notice the brand once again.

This isn’t your average triangle (not that a triangle is an average bag shape, anyway). Instead, the artfully geometric silhouette resembles a slick slice or wedge that’s been snatched from a pyramid. The shape changes and morphs depending on the angle at which your eye aims, and the bag is designed to carry as a swingy wristlet, wisely allowing full exposure for showing off the form. A polka-dot lining is cute and almost quirky, but it’s the way it hangs vertically that gives the clutch a real funky, unexpected vibe. Adding even more dimension and dynamism to an all-black bag is the contrast of smooth and textured leather. So to speak, this is one well-rounded triangle. Emanuel Ungaro bag on Farfetchicon for $683.

Pair with: Soften the strong lines with an unexpected take on the trench – Michael Lo Sordo’s washed silk-satin coat in sweet sky blue. On NET-A-PORTERicon for $810.
