Subtle Blushes For Everyday Use

About 1.5 years ago Estée Lauder came out with this amazing gel blush (felt like powder on the skin – pictured above). It has been my go-to ever since it came out. Unfortunately it was limited edition (why, why, why???) and I haven’t been able to get my hands on it since mine ran out. I tested out a ton, spent a good hour at Sephora, and finally found two that I like…still not as much as the Estée Lauder one – which really was by far the most natural one plus it gave a subtle glow almost like a blush/highlighter in one – but they’re both pretty great too. The first is Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Ethereal Glow ($35). It comes in a few different shades and gives subtle color with just a hint of shimmer. The second is Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Color ($31). Of the two I only like Hourglass slightly better because you can apply it haphazardly, but because both have a blend of shades you can swoop your brush over the palette for a more natural looking flush than you would otherwise get. The Clarins one also comes in a variety of shades so you can more easily match your skin tone (the Estée Lauder one only came in one shade, but the color was so subtle it worked even on pale, redness-prone skin like I have).
