Balenciaga Cabas Nylon and Leather Tote: Work and Play

Balenciaga Cabas Nylon and Leather Tote

Here’s a fun, easy tote that’s equally great for travel and the gym. I just wish it was priced for such casual activities. Coming in at just over a grand, the price of Balenciaga’s new Cabas tote still isn’t bad for what it is, but obviously I’m not going to toss sweaty gym shoes in here.

The cobalt color clearly helps me fall in love, but a nylon tote has its own appeal: nylon is lightweight, low-maintenance, and exudes an instantly effortless feel. Sometimes too effortless, as a matter of fact. Luckily, the appropriately slick and sporty leather trims adds the polish needed to ensure you aren’t too casual.

I’m always getting asked to suggest a good work bag (sometimes the most seemingly basic of bags are the hardest to come by), and here it is. The high level of versatility means your weekend days and trips out of town are covered, too. For those of you looking for a perfect neutral over bold color, the military-inspired green versionicon, in an east-west shape, does a great job. Balenciaga Cabas on MATCHESFASHION.comicon for $1,095.

Pair with: Sometimes you crave a pair of sneakers meant for wearing out of the gym. Eugène Riconneaus’ abstract-print pair, with a chunky white sole, can be worn with jeans, sweats, and day dresses alike. On NET-A-PORTERicon for $310.
