Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil: Remain Calm

Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil

You know I love my oils. I clean and treat my face with them, and use them to moisturize my body; so you won’t be surprised that I’m in love with Avène’s Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil. For one thing, oil is the best way to clean naturally, but more important is the hydration and moisture retention. Though I don’t have eczema, which this is formulated for, I have very dry skin, and I’m too impatient to religiously lotion after each shower. I’ve tried other cleansers that supposedly won’t dry you out, but this one truly stands up to the claim. The oil leaves the skin soft and silky, and even though it’s oil-based, it’s not greasy. XeraCalm A.D won’t leave your shower a slippery hazard! It lathers very little, and you don’t need much.

I’ll be honest and this may be TMI, but I’m a smelly person (imagine having the name Kelly and actually being smelly!!) so I need a cleanser that really works. Uh, imagine after hot yoga! Gross. The best thing about oils is the ability to perfectly strip away dirt and grime and yes, smells. It’s not about covering anything up with fragrance. Which leads me to another great thing – this has no added fragrances. There isn’t really a scent, per se. I’ve been using it for almost two weeks, and I’m totally addicted. I still apply lotion once every few days, but I no longer get itchy in bed and have to get out to find lotion. Once the dry itching starts, it’s hard to get it to fully stop because I’m already inflamed. Regular use of Avène’s cleansing oil keeps this in control. My skin is so happy! Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil available on DermStore for $30.
