It wasn’t going to be easy to follow up his polishes, but Louboutin has managed to do it with his new line of lipsticks, launching just in time for NYFW. They’re as cool and definitely as original; not a single person I showed the lipsticks to knew immediately that I was showing them lipsticks…the response was always, “oooh what is that?!?” At $90, they’re more expensive than even the ones that Tom Ford sells and almost double the price of Louboutin’s $50 nail varnish, but the packaging is designed to double as a necklace…so, you know, hey, double duty is certainly something! The cap has a ring at the top through which you can thread a string to show off your new acquisition (and save room in your clutch), which we all know will inevitably sell out.

As with his polishes, Louboutin is launching his lipsticks with a bang; they come in 38 different shades, which are divided into three collections, all inspired by the designer’s shoes and handbags: 20 shades in the Silky Satin (medium-to-full-coverage with a satin finish and hint of shine), nine shades in the Velvet Matte (highly pigmented shades with a soft, matte finish), and nine shades in the Sheer Voile (sheer finish with a hint of shine). Each collection also has a signature Rouge Louboutin shade, which comes packaged in a black lacquer case, unlike the rest of the shades which come in gold packaging.

I was able to try out the lipsticks and they glide on buttery smooth (the formulation has natural oils and seed butters). So technically these are triple duty since they work to moisturize your pout as well 🙂 At Saks Fifth Avenue.
