RoC Retinol Correxional

RoC Retinol Correxional

I ate my way through Europe (France, Austria and Italy!) for three weeks and as fun as it was to wake up in a new city every few days, it wreaked havoc on my skin (admittedly, the daily glass or two or three of rosé did not help!).

Luckily, my first stop was in France. We all know the French are as serious about skincare as they are about wine– which is why for me, browsing French pharmacies for new beauty products is as fun as drinking champagne. One of my all time favorite French pharmacy discoveries is RoC skincare. Founded in 1957 by Dr. Jean-Charles Lissarrague and named for famed Parisian pharmacy Roge Cavailles, where he crafted revolutionary skin care products that promoted skin health.

Their latest products include a new formulation of Retinol – this is the stuff skin care dreams are made of! I know I know, what the heck is Retinol anyway and why does it work?

To put it in simple terms, Retinol is a form of vitamin A- and when converted to retinoic acid, it helps smooth lines (think of it as a super vitamin for your face!). I’ve used it in various products since I gave birth and hands down, RoC Skincare is the expert in retinol– the “gold standard” in anti-aging ingredients, with a range of truly efficacious products that will improve your skin tone and firmness (just follow me on SnapChat @bagsnob to see- you can not photoshop or FaceTune on snaps ?)!

I tested three products from RoC’s Correxion collection, read on to see which one is right for you:

RoC Retinol Correxional
RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Serum- This amazing serum contains the purest forms of retinol formulated to give years back to the look and feel of your skin. My skin is baby smooth because of it, a fact all my travel companions marvel at despite our late night “champagne tastings” and early morning sightseeing tours. If you can only buy one product- THIS IS THE ONE TO GET.

RETINOL CORREXION® Eye Cream– My husband recently pointed out during dinner in Paris that while the rest of my face is doing great, I should work on the circles and bags under my eyes. WHAT?! I didn’t know whether to laugh or to punch him in the face. Granted, I asked him if he thought I looked 25 but still- he should have learned better by now! Anyway, RoC’s Correxion eye cream is simply divine. I love the lightweight texture and how smooth my eye area looks when I wake up. It’s also great under make up and the small tube is perfect for traveling. Note: You don’t need a lot! A small squeeze goes a long way. By the way, did you know using too much or too rich of an eye cream when you are young can actually CAUSE wrinkles later in life?! A rich and heavy cream doesn’t mean it works better- it just means there is a lot of oil or filler in the cream- not always a good thing. You want an eye cream that has high concentration of pure ingredients like RoC, not a lot of fillers that weigh down the sensitive eye area.

RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream- The final step in my daily long and involved skin care routine (anywhere from 7-13 steps, depending on season, time and location) is always a good night cream. I think of RoC Retinol Correxion night cream as a shield for my face. It not only seals in the Correxion serum, it protects my skin from free radicals and pollution that cause wrinkles while I am asleep and my cells are regenerating. I often think of myself as a science project, and the goal of the project is to combat aging without resorting to invasive procedures!

Serum is my favorite! Easily add it to any skincare regime to give your skin a boost!

All the RoC retinol products are packaged in a special aluminum tube that protects retinol from light and air to keep it pure, stable and effective. So, what are ya waiting for? Order yours here and report back to me in three weeks.
