Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney has some great bags for Fall. This quilted Appaloosa bag is reminiscent of Chanel but it has a much younger feel for those of more recent births =) The chain is of course a big thing for fall and the color is a perfect all around camel, making it a great “only” bag purchase for the season (with the exception of sales and impulse buys of course).

The Boston bag is great because it is a classic design and a red patent bag is such an amazing look with toned down monochromatic pants and sweater. It makes life so much easier when you have a bag that does all the work for you. And for the vegetarian monks or maybe just budget conscious bag lovers, Stella has a really cool slouchy bucket hobo that is faux leather. Call the New York boutique (212) 255-1556 or email for more information and to order.

  1. Aren’t all her bags plastic? I love the styles but like the Bag Snob, I think it’s lame to make fake leather bags, she should use cotton or some other natural fabric.

  2. pantent leather just comes off as awful; but at least it’s leather–but so ugly; Of course, plastic is for the Payless set. The top fawn-colored-bag is GORGEOUS, though….

  3. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using faux leather, with Stella McCartney’s quality designs there is nothing cheap or “lame” about it. Why shouldn’t vegetarians be able to find quality bags that are made of something a little more robust than canvas. Any one worrying about the embarrasment of being seen with a faux leather bag, doesnt appreciate the stand she is making about ethical materials. I for one applaud her.

  4. I totally agree with Katy and Erin…there’s nothing lame about it and it is about the style. Anyone who has a problem with “quality” faux leather bags (and we aren’t talking the plastic payless bags here), you are either too young to appreciate what she stands for or too materialistic for your own good or probably both.

  5. I personally think Stella makes some amazing bags. The high quality non leather materials prove that you dont need to carry around a dead animal on your arm just to be in fashion. Plus I noticed with McCartney, you dont have the embarrasment of carrying a bag you paid 2000$ for and seeing another lady carry a very attractive $100 fake of the same.(been there and faced that) 😉

  6. I already have a hard time finding vegan bags. I’ve gotten lucky with a few Juicy couture bags but it’s hard for me to find something more luxurious.

I think Stella is making a bold and positive statement and i give her a standing ovation.

Besides, you probably have bad taste if you don’t even think her hand bags are classy. Seriously how can you turn your nose to her quilted bag?

I’ve carried faux leather bags in the past and no one seems to notice a difference. If there’s no difference why skin an animal for it?

  7. I can’t believe these people! You think it’s lame to save the lives of cows? The leather industry is horrible and I can’t believe it’s still so fashionable. I for one like to be fashionable without having to wear the carcuses of animals. I love it that Stella McCartney supplies high fashion to those of us who actually have a soul.

  8. to be honest I don’t think the bag even looks like fake leather, I wouldn’t be able to tell, and it’s what she believes in. I would be more than happy to be seen carrying this bag.
