Prada Plex Stampato Tote

pradaprint.jpg

Wow!! Not as bad as the LV Tribute bag but equally chuckle inducing, this Prada tote was inspired by crayola vomit (since crayons are no longer toxic, parents actually allow children to eat them). We have been exceptionally harsh on Prada lately but can you blame us? Their new rainbow bright bags are really stretching their reknown to the limit by making the same ole same ole bags in obnoxious colors. Or the alternative is the furry fringey chupacabra bag. I’ve seen it on the streets as people pass their window displays of late, shaking heads, walking away in disgust, I’m assuming it’s not exactly the kind of attention grabber they were striving for. The only small consolation is that this bag is $1220 instead of $42,000 at Saks by Pre-Order (I can hardly wait).

  1. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?? I don’t know which I am more shocked by. THIS bag, or by the fact children actually EAT crayons! Do you happen to know what the color of choice is?? Does red taste better than blue?? Just WHAT is going on at Prada?! How can I get some of what they’re taking?? I have to admit though, I am quite tempted by the turbans. I don’t know why, but I just feel there is something very Schiaparelli about them. Would anyone else dare to wear the turban?? Brook , London

  2. I just saw the Fall 2007 Bottega Veneta show and it is AMAZING start to finish! Just AMAZING!! And the bags… WOW! Sooo absolutely luxe!! Maier is SUCH a genius! Brook , London

  3. No way would I wear the turban! LOL

I think I may have eaten crayons when I was a kid. I can’t imagine letting my 3 year old eat crayons, though. Gross. Kinda like this bag. *gag*

  4. The colors on this bag are crazy and distracting. I saw the other Prada bag mentioned in the most recent issue of Elle magazine. As soon as I saw it I couldn’t wait to hear what you ladies at bagsnob had to say about it!

  5. o dear….this is ridiculous….are they trying to make some chinese new year special edition bag or sth to promote multiculturalism? certainly not a tasteful interpretation of the festivity…….i dont wanna turn away from prada one day like what i did to MJ

  6. Now that Marc has opened the floodgates, I can’t wait (well, actually I CAN wait) to see what monstrosities other houses bring us in the name of making a buck (or euro). At least this wasn’t priced too outrageously – but $1220 is still a lot more than, say, $120 (or $0).

  7. i would totally wear the turban.

i saw a bag in a mag the other day [forgot which]..it was receiving a lot of acclaim from the magazine..but it was gross..shockingly, it was a CHANEL…some “chanel patchwork”…kind of like the LV that was posted…if only i could find a pic for you guys, we would all gasp in horror

  8. Instead of doing ‘inspired, one-off, patchwork’ bags (which are acutually overexpensive, ridiculous and disgusting) they should stick to the regular $2000 or so bags that are really great – take hint from the Birkin or the 2.55.

  9. I may be the only non-conservative snob here, but I loved the bag at first sight. It is funky and the colors are fun! Lighten up girls!

  10. I have to agree with the other anonymous. i liked it at first site too….than again i found it with rainbow bright in my search. lol
