Dautore Patent Shoulder Bag

dautorepatent.jpg

I can’t say that I love this bag or that I would actually use it but it is quite interesting. This is definitely for a hip young girl who wants to be noticed (this is a really giant bag!) and have something a bit different. And this bag is affordable so who cares that it is not a classic and will get tired after a season? The white patent is so of the now and all young girls need things in their closets that are trendy – how else are they going to be able to go through their stuff in a few years and have the “what was I thinking?” moment that is so important to our maturity process? I think 10 years ago I would be so thrilled toting this around and Tina with her black Chanel 2.55 would look at me and give me her “Is that what you’re wearing?” look. I was that girl. At Shopbop

for $449.

  2. Well, it’s not what I would buy but I don’t know that it’s awful. It’s more that it would only suit a particular person, someone who is probably very tall and hip and who has a definite style (i.e. someone who is everything that I am not). Maybe on that woman it would look fabulous but on me … well, let’s just say that even my friends who are too well-bred to ever dream of commenting on anything I wear would ask me what I was thinking when I bought that. On the other hand, I would look perfect with something like a Carker.

Case in point: Peaches Geldof (opinionated daughter of Bob, which is perhaps to be expected considering her parentage and the fact that she’s all of 17) was photographed the other day with blonde hair and in an OK-ish outfit, for someone who’s going for the rock chick vibe and is 17. However, she was carrying a fairly classic Chanel tote bag. At 17! Why? Classic Chanel is for someone whose look is very put-together and is at least 20 years older. When you’re 17, what is it supposed to offer you? For crying out gently, child, wear something like this one instead.

  3. I actually saw this bag in person but in a greyish color. I noticed it right away thanks to the ladies at Bag Snob. I also noticed the person caring it. My sister and I were convinced it was Ashley Simpson standing a few people behind us on line waiting to get into a sample sale.

It’s not a pretty bag and in grey it was even worse. It looked like a garbage bag. I don’t think it matters what you wear or who you are, the bag is not attractive.

  4. I just love this bag !!! And i bought also the grey one as the green one. I use them very much and i enjoy the moment, cause nothing lasts forever…
