Can you think of anything more frivolous than a mink tote? This little tote from Bamford is totally adorable with the leather drawstring bow. OK, fine, those of you who read Bag Snob regularly will know that we have always bashed fur bags because honestly, how much sense does that make really? It’s a total waste of the use of fur and for our PETA friends out there, we can’t even use the “survival against harsh elements” defense when it comes to bags instead of coats. But usually fur bags are plushy and poofy and well, furry, and although cute as a stuffed animal, it does not make for a stylish bag. This mink tote is sheared mink (which is preferable for coats as well) so it is more like pony hair and less like Chewbacca. Pony hair – is it really the hide of a (my) little pony? Or is pony hair a general name for a certain kind of fur? As a horse owner I could never excuse myself for toting one around. When it comes to the rare reptiles moral issues are much easier to come over!
I too as a horse owner´ which you already know´ understand your feelings.I also am aware that we have to make compromises.I prefer to keep my few bags-lizard,croc. and one leather one.I also prefer leather-real leather-boots and shoes and wouldn´t exchange them to Stella M´s artificial bags and shoes and who knows what they are made of and how they will last in the long run.I too long for the times when less was more.Why do we need so much?What happens to all the leftovers?
