Raising the Crib: Baby Bed Blocks

These Baby Bed Blocks from Space Babies could really have helped me survive some sleepless nights with our newborns. Intended to help babies breathe while sleeping when they have a cold or earache, I would have used them to help relieve the pain of acid reflux. Both of my children suffered from reflux. My first had it worse than the second. After the midnight feedings, my husband or I would have to rock or hold our children at an incline for at least 15 minutes to lessen the likelihood of reflux. While it may not sound like a long time, in the middle of the night it is an eternity. We tried a wedge pillow, but somehow both kids always ended up off of it. We tried placing towels under one side of the mattress, but that didn’t work well either. The Baby Bed Blocks sets the entire crib at an incline (maximum height four inches), so no matter where the baby is her head is always elevated. However, once your little ones really start moving, you may not be able to use these. It could have a reverse effect if your kids feet move to the up side of the incline. If these don’t end up working for you, you end up with six stacking toy blocks. Available at BabyGuru.
