Planting The Little Seed

thelittleseed.jpgSome celeb moms want more parents to go green. To encourage today’s parents to buy and use eco-friendly products for their little ones, new mothers Soleil Moon Frye, Paige Goldberg Tolmach and Beth Birkett, co-founded The Little Seed, a children’s specialty boutique carrying eco-friendly and organic products. These ladies make tree hugging stylish. Their goal was to create a one-stop shop for parents seeking products from skincare to bedding to toys that are made with organic or eco-friendly materials – healthy for babies and healthy for the planet. The store carries the most fashionable, earth friendly threads, so your babe will look adorable while learning the importance of care and responsibility.

The Little Seed also provides a diaper changing station, a discreet nursing lounge as well as an arts & crafts area for the littlest shoppers. The store is committed to providing parents with information on improving the health of their children and the planet; they plan to offer creative classes for kids and educational seminars for parents. Practice what you preach… the entire store environment is safe and non-toxic – from the no V.O.C. paint on the walls to the recycled shopping bags. While their e-commerce site is coming soon, the California store is located in the hip, urban enclave of Larchmont Village. For more information visit The Little Seed.

  1. I used to live near Larchmont… I miss it so much! The yoga nazi, le petite greek, chan dara thai…

especially over the holidays, the entire little village lights up like a page out of Dickens.

Can’t wait to try the organic tot clothes next time I am in LA.

I have also been using eco-friendly household cleaners for years now. My favorite is Seventh Generation sold at Wholefoods or at drugstore.com http://www.drugstore.com/templates/stdplist/default.asp?catid=47226&cmbProdBrandFilter=25879&brand=25879&rolled=true&sctrx=dps-16&sctrxp1=121190

The kitchen cleanser has a citrus oil, you will never get ants if you use it on your counter and stove tops! Maybe I should do a totsnob entry on my natural cleansing products at home. Not that I clean, but I do buy it for my housekeeper and she said it’s really good 🙂
