Olay Definity: The fight against discoloration, dullness, and brown spots

Beauty really is skin deep and I always find that the best solution to skin problems is usually a positive boost in attitude and less stress (a day at the spa, anyone!?) — easier said than done, I know and it often feels like a vicious circle with skin dullness, wrinkles, breakouts, and such causing stress which in turn only worsens our blemishes. What is a girl to do? Beauty Snob Tina was kind enough to send over some Olay Definity products for me to try out and I’ve been diligently using them for the last few weeks (on a side note — love the space-age packaging! and it comes securely sealed so there’s no worrying about people having put their fingers in the product before you bought it. Also, the products are compact enough to throw in your handbag or travel bag). The Definity products work together to help reverse the appearance of past damage, reduce the look of brown spots, dullness, uneven tone, and wrinkles. Of course, Olay recommends using their complete line of products for optimal effect, but I just used three and I have to say that especially around my eyes (they always give away my ongoing sleep deprivation:(..), I saw noticeable improvements. Read on for my take on the products I used!

The Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer ($29.99), is easy to spread, absorbs quickly, and is great for clearing your face before applying makeup (note though that it’s a moisturizer not a cleanser..the way it lathers on it’s easy to get confused!). Olay suggests using this for 8 weeks for noticeable results, but even before the 8 week mark you’re likely to see improvements and delight at the fresh, clean, moisture feeling this product gives.

The Olay Definity Intense Hydrating Cream ($29.99), is perfect to lather on your face before going to bed. The smell is light and especially with all the sun, heat, and humidity that comes with summer weather, the moisture and hydration is great (it actually contains the highest levels of glycerin in the Definity line allowing for maximum hydration).

The Olay Definity Correcting Protective Lotion ($29.99), is my fav because it comes packed with SPF 15:) This is the lotion you’ll want to use during the day. It’s moisturizing, but it’s non-greasy so applying makeup on top isn’t a problem.

All in all I think the Olay line is very well-balanced in terms of having products that work well with nighttime, daytime, as well cleansing and moisturizing regiments. It’s a pretty extensive line, but even just using these three basic products, I think you’ll notice visible improvements as far as dullness, discoloration and maybe even a few less wrinkles:)

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. this is probably a stupid question but do you use the moisturizing lotion and hydrating cream together? or do you use them on alternating nights?

  2. Hi Michelle,

You can alternate them if you like, but it’s recommended to use them together for optimal results:)

  3. I discovered a great product to use. This product is called IS Clinical White Lightening Complex. I purchased this product at Skinterra.com. I am very impressed on how this product works. It brightens, hydrates and I have seen results in just days.
