catfish family. The bag actually reminds me of something or someone but I can’t place it yet… but I’m certain it is from one of my son’s favorite cartoons. Fendi Mink-Trimmed Wolf Fish F6 Secret Code Bag at eLuxury.com So tell me what you think, Snob or Slob?

  1. I respect Fendi for the mere fact that they so ruthlessly produce ugly bags. Do they think they are attractive? I have no idea. Even their classic dueling F’s logo, to me anyway, is ugly on the vintage bags I have seen. I think the baguette was a moment in fashion but nothing more. I look at Fendi as the sort of bad taste fun realm of the fashion industry. If I want something fun to last just a moment, then I go with Fendi. I mean, come on, WOLF FISH!? Look at my bag, it’s made out of ocelot trimmed with skate fish. It’s so ridiculous, it’s almost entertaining.

  2. Over the years, I bought several Fendi bags. I like the secret code style but the Wolf fish bag is simply atrocious. I consider myself quite the fashionista (I’m sorry if I sound conceited, but it’s true,) and am not afraid of drama, but a bag such as this has no place even in my wardrobe.

  3. if you like carrying what looks like an angry owl then go for it. i swear it seems as though it’ll attack you if you looked at it the wrong way.

  4. THIS will surely give me nightmares. Good heavens, what a fright! I ought to be paid $4k just to look at it…

  5. Tina darling—I am ITALIAN and BOLD, and I would never carry this bag…My GOODNESS!!I think it’s still breathing!!!

    B. =}

  6. It’s sad that this came from the same brand that gave us the Spy Bag and baguette type clutch. Could this be a bad bipolar moment for the stylist? Scary and ugly!

  7. I was watching one of those news channels the other day and they were reporting about the excesss of the new wealth from Russia- they were apparantly treating several resort areas as if everything and everone were for sale. Some even held lavish parties on their yachts where they would burn 500 Euro notes for funsies. This bag is for them.

  8. I can understand mink on apparel, but handbags. It’s not like a handbag is going to catch cold during a European or North American winter. Do some designers sit at a table and plot to see how much people will spend for loyalty?

I don’t know if I’d say slob. Visual atrocity definitely.

  9. Have you changed your site?. The names of the ones who comment are not visible anymore. I liked the old site more. But times they are a changing. Won´t say anything about this Fendi bag, cause I have no words to say,

  10. While not a fan of Fendi’s bags, I do realize that their bags are truly designed for the runway to match outfits, rather than for RTW… We may not agree with their looks when we see it on shelves, but when you see a model strutting down the runway, the bag + the eleborate couture outfits, there is a look/allure to i.

I personally LOVE Fendi’s RTW line, i bought the origami fold top from this summer and recived countless compliments 🙂

  11. Horrendous. Spits in the face of good taste and elegance, yet…

I can see how it would have a target audience.

If we consider couture buyers… there’s something like 200 in the world, a very very small percentage of the population with taste for the superb, the equisite, and sometimes the absurd.

There would be a very, very small number of people wealthy enough to not have to look for longevity and stylishness in a handbag- one that will last. Therefore, they will see the crazyness of this and enjoy it as a flash in the pan!

Does my little theory make sense? I’m not sure how to communicate my point, but obviously Fendi sees a demographic for this type of bags.

  12. I usually hate the Fendi concoctions, but this little thing looks kind of adorable, like a little pet-bag.

Perhaps the *pet-bag* is a full-on trend that we couldn’t really perceived before –apalled by the ugliness that took over our eyes. But this one, this little buddy, makes me want to cuddle him!

  13. I got tricked! At first I really liked it…..but then I noticed the fur….no, no, no, say it isn’t so? The fur does not go with the style at all. It’s already busy busy busy with the design from the fish and then to just add monk fur all over the place is nuts.

If the fur was removed, I would love it. Okay, not love it like $4000 love it…but love it like on clearance at Target…but only WITHOUT the fur!!!

    SLOB FO’ SURE!

  14. I am re-watching SATC and cannot believe how many F baguettes were featured in it! was Patricia Field paid for product placement or what?

  15. Tina – the bag is simply craptastic! Reminds me of childhood fishing trips to Wisconsin. The only thing that would make this bag even more OTT is a dangling leather nightcrawler charm.

  16. I guess I’m the only person who likes the secret code bag – not in wolf fish and fur obvs but in suede or python I think it would be fabulous! I’m definitely going to get it this year.
