As part of her surprise, the winner of the Goya bag contest was given a ticket to attend the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 show today with the Bag Snobs! She is a full time mommy from New York and as you can see in the photo, loves her Goya bag. Oscar also sent her a personal thank you note with the bag. Here we are with Oscar for a quick photo before his staff whisked him off to his flight. For complete review of the Spring 2009 and the fabulous new bags, stay tuned for tomorrow morning’s post! thankyoucard (2)1.jpg

  1. I have been trying to leave a comment for 2 days but the comment function wasn’t working.

What I wanted to say was it is so lovely to receive a handwritten note from Oscar de la Renta and that the Goya bag looks fantastic on both of you. Congrats to Liza for winning, what a treat to go to the fashion show.

  2. Me too, tried to leave comments yesterday but it didn’t save. I just wanted to say I wish I won. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. And yes, when will Goya be available in leather? In your webisode there was a brushed patent leather one, how much will that be?

  3. Liza, As I was trying to say yesterday but it didnt take.

Not only did you win that fabulous Goya, (which btw it was much deserved on your end, your answer was great!!) but you also got to meet ODLR!! WOW WOW WOW!!! Congrats!! =)

T&K—You two look like your having a WONDERFUL time!! Thx and keep up the good work!!

  4. Wow, that Goya bag looked lovely in the picture for the contest entry, but it looks even more amazing in real life. You ladies rocked it.

    Jeaallouuus 😛

  5. We had no idea she was Conan’s wife until about 2 days before the show when someone at ODLR recognized her full name on the guest list.

She submitted anonymously as Liza (no last name). We thought maybe she was a housewife in the midwest but just loved her poetic prose. Oscar and his team chose her for the beautiful haiku she wrote. You could tell she put a lot of thought in her entry. It’s no wonder that she has a MFA in fiction writing! She should be quite proud of herself considering we received almost 500 entries.

When I asked her about her being Conan’s wife, she humbly replied that it was the only thing celebrated about her. I beg to differ, I predict her talent for writing will one day propel her into her own limelight.

We’ve asked her to write a guest blog on her experience at ODLR runway show. Look for it first thing Monday morning!

  6. YES, Tina, I agree. She is a Brilliant writer. I would’ve picked her as the winner myself…

I wasn’t implying that you guys knew who she was and all.

She did a GREAT!! job with that poetic answer!!

I wondered if you would ask her to be a guest writer on

BagSnob. I cant wait till Monday!!!

    Good Job!! =)

  7. I submitted an entry and had to admit oscar and his team chose well.

Congrats to Liza and look forward to her future contributions on Bagsnob!
