Freida Pinto, star of this year’s big Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, hasn’t impressed me with her red carpet looks, but I’m loving her casual-chic day-to-day style. She’s been spotted rocking Citizens of Humanity jeans on a number of occasions — above she’s pictured in the AVA Jean in the Venus wash, $184. No matter how many designers show boyfriend jeans and high-waisted jeans — and even though I love seeing people in flared, ripped jeans (probably because I’m secretly obsessed with Rachel Zoe) — there’s nothing quite as fab as a flattering pair of dark wash, skinny jeans! To round out her casual look, Pinto paired her jeans with a fitted leather jacket and a simple black shirt — great for the winter to spring transition! To get a similar look check-out the Lucca Leather Jacket from S.W.O.R.D ($736), it has a two-way zipper closure and button-tab epaulets at the shoulders and for tees, a basic from James Perse always does the trick! Though I have to say when I went back to visit Cornell a few weeks ago I picked-up some basics at Target and even though I can tell they won’t last more than a few washes, for $6.99 you can get some pretty good basics!
