  1. Jay-Z.

I recycle, carpool when able to, take public transportation when I visit huge northern cities, and I use my lights minimally (and unplug them when not in use!).

  2. It’s Jay-Z!

I recycle, use a Nalgene instead of water bottles, try to buy things with as little packaging as possible, use CFL lightbulbs, and walk everywhere I go!

  3. Jay-Z!

I recylce where I can and of course you bags for life rather than all the plastic bags!! Ooh and I car share.

  4. Jay-Z. I bring my own envirosac bags everywhere, we recycle, and we minimize our use of electricity by unplugging appliances when not in use.

  5. Jay-Z! I am the new environmental champion for my company, I help ensure people are recycling and reducing their waste through the whole company 🙂

  6. Jay-Z

I recycle, compost, have my own organic veggie/fruit garden, use a rain barrel, use cloth bags for shopping, use a water filter, and buy locally when/where it’s available.

  7. Jay Z

I use recycled grocery bags and use biodegradeable ones too…also i use my washing machine on low energy to conserve! YAY for green!

  8. Jay-Z

I recycle, only use public transportation, conserve energy with CFL bulbs, use cloth grocery bags, etc!

  9. That’s Jay-Z

I unplugged all appliances before I left the house, and I shut the computers off when I left work.

  10. JayZ- I recycle, unplug appliances that I don’t use, turn off the lights in rooms that no one is in, use my cute reusable grocery bags and I recently bought the most fabulous shower head at Target that is proven to reduce water use. It provides just the right amount of pressure plus it was on sale:)

Within the past few months my fiance and I installed a new, energy efficient boiler to heat the house and we’re having new insulation put into the house to make heating more efficient (the house was built during the 1800s and isn’t very energy efficient!).

On a daily basis I take public transportation, use canvas bags at the store (or carry out items if I make an unplanned purchase) and drink from a reuseable, stainless steel bottle. I have consistently reduced my electric bill by several bucks a month over the past few months. Last Sunday I resisted purchasing a gorgeous side table for our dining room (even though it was priced to sell!) and will refinish the one we already have (with a low VOC spray paint in a funky color). We save some money and it’s better than trashing a perfectly functional, albeit unattractive, piece. I recycle EVERYTHING that the recycling station will accept. A couple of weeks ago, instead of rushing to the store to buy some clothing items I needed, I asked my newly-super-skinny aunt if she had some donations and I got a great new jean skirt and two blazers. And didn’t need to hit up Gap.

At this moment I’m at work taking a break from calling our clients to obtain the proper contact information to email them their bills in order to help push a paper-free initiative. I keep my own silverware and plate at work instead of using the disposable utensils.

I didn’t think I did that much to help out the environment but after thought about it and wrote it all down, I guess I’m not doing THAT badly.
