Fashion of Summer 1972 is Surprisingly Relevant

I’ll be the first to admit, I just don’t have time to read many blogs but one that I do enjoy for the witty writing and relevant topics is Jezebel. I just have to share the 1972 Sears Spring Summer catalog, you will want to order if you could, except probably remade in cotton instead of everything polyester. I MUST have that all plaid fully coordinated suit!! Awesome!! And the beach robe is to die, you cannot go wrong with a full length hoodie, seriously, why don’t they make them anymore? Not that I ever owned one, I was one year old in 1972 and I can’t say that I know if this trend ever continued.

More after the jump.

I am going to bring this picture of these nautical pants to my tailor to see if she can make one for me. It is the best thing ever. Those pockets are so over the top yet seem perfectly in place and proportional. Make sure you read the captions when you look at the Jezebel post, I agree with Dodai, the cover ups are the perfect blogging outfits! I wonder if it’ll be weird to wear this to drop my kid off at school.

  1. OMG, you would match your godson in that plaid suit, so that’s where he gets it from 😉

I just showed it to him cuz he’s still home recovering and he said, cool!

    hahahhaa

  2. I keep looking at the girl in the black swimsuit (in the upper right of this) and thinking, “Oh weird, her leg looks weird!”

Then I realized- her leg looks real! Not airbrushed. They didn’t have photoshopping back then.

    I’VE BEEN BRAINWASHED ACK.
