My daughter has this set at school and it has been an incredibly tool to help her learn to spell. There are simple 3 letter words with a corresponding picture on nice thick stock cards, one side has the entire word spelled out and the other side has one missing letter. You use the side with the whole words for beginners, it teaches tots to recognize letters by placing foam letters on top of each letter. The advanced side has one letter missing and your tot picks the correct missing letter. You can set out a few for him to choose from at first and then advance to him choosing from all the available letters. If he gets stuck, he can check the flip side that has the entire word spelled out. It is really fun and a great way to spend quality time with your tot while he’s learning.
