My expectations of Prada bags are so low nowadays that I’m excited just to see a boring old hobo with a zipper on it (even though it disturbs me how much it resembles Tod’s hobo). This is a basic that won’t let you down, even if it’s raining cuz if it’s one thing I trust in Prada bags are its leather and durability. The glazed calfskin (not patent) will age beautifully! I’ve been buying Prada bags for 20 years and not one has fallen apart on me. The easy hobo style comes back every year so it’s also a good investment if you’re looking for a bag under a grand. Nice flat shoulder straps with secure zipped outer pocket and it opens to a big ol’ bucket of a bag. I’m leaning towards the sumptuous luggage brown but strongly suggest you use it with the backside facing out cuz that logo spelled out is almost as annoying as the triangle plate. I know, I’m hard to please. 12.5″x10″ will allow you to take it out at night without looking like a real hobo — Prada Vitello Hobo at Saks $995. Have a snob weekend everyone! xoxo
I love them, was not so sure at first but looked at the saks site like the simple hobo look. very classic
lol…as soon as i saw this bag i thought to myself why is tina featuring this boring old hobo with a zipper on it and then your first sentence explained it all. if i was held down and forced to carry this bag i would go for the brown as well and i would also opt to carry it on the reverse, which is so often necessary for prada and dior bags. thanks for the post tina…i needed a good laugh! have a great weekend.
I am really surprized that Prada would come out with this bag. It is so blahh. This looks something that should be on the TJMaxx racks no make by prada. I reall expect much more from Prada.
Take a look on Bergdorf Goodman’s site at all of the other fall bags from Prada. The nice thing is that it is a much better collection than the past few from Prada. Maybe Miuccia finally understood who her core consumers were.

I would rather see something that’s at least trying to be original instead of this totally generic waste of a perfectly good leather.
I just bought the YSL Rive Gauche bag! YSL is having a blow-out sale! I do worry about the goatskin leather though. Especially since you mention it. I think all my other bags are made of calf and lambskin. Perhaps next bag will be a Prada!
totally agree w tina.. logos and monograms are just annoying and makes u look desperate!

Prada made many more nicer bags than this even in the past collections as i’ve seen most of them in person.. don’t know y Tina featured this boring one instead of others.
I agree with most of the above comments; this hobo is nothing out of the ordinary. For that price I would definitely want a bag that was either a show stopper or a classic shape that I could wear everyday. I feel like I could get a similar hobo in almost any other brand! With that said, it is nice to know that Prada leather is so durable. There is nothing worse than a pricey bag that falls apart. Thanks Tina!

The leather’s shininess makes it looks like vinyl. When combined with the “styling” the effect looks like a cheap knock-off.
Imagine, a designer making what appear to be counterfeits from manufacturers own label….

the patent finish reminds me of a Pauric Sweeny bag and the structure, i must agree is very similar to Tods. Lacks originality.
so beautiful , i hope one day i can own it
