The “Bob” Haircut: Who can pull it off?

The bob is not an easy haircut to pull off (not for nothing does Anna Wintour — per 60 Minutes — have daily professional hair styling as one of the perks outlined in her contract). Not only do you need to have the time to deal with the constant upkeep that this style requires, but you need a great facial bone structure and poise. I don’t think that the traditional bob cut is particularly flattering on young women (it ages 28 year old Christina Ricci by at least 5 years for example). It’s a stern cut which is why I think Posh pulls it off so well and probably why Katie Holmes opted for it when she was trying to get away from her young, good girl image. LC looks like she’s wearing a bad wig (which she probably is). I also don’t like the length of LC’s bob — I’m all about long hair, chin-length hair or slightly below the shoulder hair, otherwise, for the most part, people end-up looking like they’re in between haircuts waiting to grow out their hair. As for Rihanna, I actually like her best when she has shorter hair. Katie Holmes looks the most snob in my opinion. What do you think? Vote in our poll!

  1. I felt like Katie’s was a copy cat of Victoria’s! I think Anna Wintour owns it, but I love Victoria’s too.

  2. Bobs are so boring, they’re almost a non-style. I have a pixie with a long side-swept bang in front and I just love piecing it out, it looks urban and edgy. Bobs are for old chicks.
