Halle Berry’s Thomas Wylde Santa Cruz: Snob or Slob?

Maybe if I was more into cowboy/rocker-chic I would like the Thomas Wylde Santa Cruz, but even gorgeous Halle Berry isn’t making it work for me. The fringe, the braided metal strap (seems like that would hurt your shoulder), the skulls on the side and then to boot crinkly leather — eeck! And with a retail price of nearly $2,000 I think this is a definite slob. Plus, not to get too graphic, but doesn’t it look like the skull is vomiting the fringe!!? That said I do like the general bucket shape and size of the bag. What do you think snob or slob?  Thomas Wylde bags are available at Net-a-Porter.com

  1. OK, I have to start by saying this is not a great Thomas Wylde bag, that line has had some rockin’ bags but this one is just sort of messy. However, I can’t believe you ragged on this bag so hard, and yet gave the thumbs-up to the Tod’s D-Styling Bauletto. That bag is not just boring, it is coma-inducing! Sorry, I’d take the TW bag which at least incites some passion, negative or otherwise, compared to that bore of a Tod’s bag.

  2. Sharon, your last 2 entries (this one and the Rebecca Minkoff one) have not appeared at all on my feeds page when I go in to look at what updates there have been on Bag Snob. I only realised you made these entries when I got the newsletter through email. Any ideas why they are not coming up at all?! Anyone else having this problem?
