Madonna in Leopard: Snob or Slob?

Who, at the age of 50, besides Madonna could pull-off this

Dolce & Gabbana Leopard Print Ruched Stretch Satin Dress ($2,395)? If Madonna can get away with wearing bunny ears and tight-high boots at the Met Gala I suppose she can get away with anything. That said, while Dolce & Gabbana is one of the few brands that can often pull-off leopard designs without them looking cheap, this dress has slob written all over it. If I didn’t know better I’d think this was a bargain basement H&M find! They shininess of the silk and the ruching are horribly unflattering and the dress just screams Stifler’s Mom! What do you think? Snob or Slob?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. I think the dress is beautiful and there is nothing cheap looking about it. Grey leopard is all the rage this year and I just ordered it myself from Neiman Marcus. I think it would complement anyone with a toned body. I’m sorry Sharon but you got this all wrong…

It looked great on Whitney Houston as well. Age had nothing to do with wearing a dress like this. If you are in shape and toned, I think this is a welcome addition to one’s wardrobe…

  2. This is a hard call. While I agree that a lot of D&G looks a bit trailer trash, it has it’s appeal. High end hooker, as my friends and I would call it. Madonna looks outstanding in this photo, but seeing the dress alone, it isn’t doing it for me. Conclusion, it ain’t the dress, it’s Ms M’s bod!

  3. Ok ladies. I just received the dress in the mail. I put it on and OMG it looks great. I’ve been working out and killing myself for years and the payoff is that I can put this slinky dress on and as my family said when they saw it on “awesome.”

The dress on accentuates all the lean parts. It’s cut high, so there is no major cleavage visible which makes this leopard silky dress tasteful and not high class hooker. The length falls to just above the knee on me (I’m 5′ 9″.)

    It’s definitely a keeper…
