Celine Racer Stripe Tote

celine_tote.jpg

Since Phoebe Philo has taken over at Celine, their bags have improved significantly but they were still trying to hang on to traditional Celine. Well, hello! Look at this tote, I did a triple take when I saw the label!! It is nothing like the horse and carriage theme that I associate with them. This is so new and different (for them that is, this reminds me of Anya Hindmarch actually) – no monogram, no horse, and no catering to the middle age. The rest of the Spring collection still has their key monogram pieces but it is just good to see this reinvention. At Barneys in Beverly Hills for $1500, call 310.276.4400.

  1. It doesn’t look anything like a Roady when you see it. It’s not a bucket bag. There’s no flat bottom. It has a slim silhouette — more like the Devi Kroell hobos.

Tina doe you think this color combination works now or would I have to wait until March?

  2. Hi Stacey

I think it works now, it’d brighten up the winter hues! I use my ivory colored bag all year round. I don’t believe in rules, do what feels right for you. I think this would be beautiful with a pair of brown boots!

  3. I was walking through Nordstrom yesterday, and someone had just returned the top-handle satchel from this line, now 60% off. Talk about good timing. My first Celine! 🙂
