Bottega Veneta Vit Lisse Grommet Clutch

Studs are out and grommets are in! I am proclaiming this because I did not buy a single studded bag during the whole studded trend hubbub and I did order a grommet bag, from Bottega Veneta actually =) I have a very particular buying habit, you would be surprised at how little risk I take, so it is quite a step beyond my comfort zone to actually throw my money down on this trendy look. But it is so cool and very subtle (compared to studs that is). I love it when other girls take risks and look super edgy, it is just not me anymore (yikes, might be my age!). The Vit Lisse Grommet Clutch is not for formal affairs, which is why it is perfect! Casual and chic for everyday. And look at the organization! Gotta love the divided clutches. At Barneys New York for $1390.

  1. The store is separate from the Alaia handbag. Sorry i wasn’t clear.

I bought the bag at Bergdorf’s… Barneys in S.F. also has the bag.

  2. I have a question for Kelly. I am a big BV fan and own a few of its bags. Recently I gave my daughter a navy blue BV wallet to replace her 5 years old Louis Vuitton epi wallet. In a matter of a few months, the navy wallet started to wear out. Now it looks worse than the LV it replaced! Do you have this problem with the BV bags/wallets? My bags look fine after years of usage, but I do not use them daily. What should we do? Any advise?

    Thanks,

    CW

  3. You can buy alaia at barneys, saks in new york and ikram in chicago. bergdorf has a small selection of clothing; i’m not sure about bags. those are the spots with the best selection. edon manor, a boutique shoe store in tribeca (downtown ny) has an amazing selection of alaia shoes. they also have some other cool brands

i’m not feeling this clutch from bv, but i’m so excited about their spring line

  4. I don’t know why, but I could never bring myself to buy anything from Bottega Veneta. I know the quality is great, but I just don’t like the style. This clutch is nice, but it wouldn’t work for me.

  5. I just splurged and bought a slighty different style of this bag…a small east-west with a shoulder strap. It’s my first Bottega and I’m just delighted with it. The craftsmanship is just beautiful and the color has just a hint of a rosy hue…so pretty. It’s definitely dressy enough for anything that I would need to use it for (I don’t wear a lot of “girl clothes”), but I intend to use it anytime.

  6. Regarding the “worn” look of your frequently used Bottegas,

I recently took my worn handbag to my Bottega store for reconditioning. It came back in excellent, almost new condition.

  7. My BV wallet has taken daily use and abuse for over 2 years and looks great. I would take it to a BV store and get their advice. I save all my receipts just in case something like this happens, but so far I’ve had superb wear from all my BV’s.
