About two weeks ago Dermalogica had a little event in their new Soho boutique and I was able to check-out some of their recently launched products. Prior to going to the store I had actually never tried anything from the line, but I was super impressed by how knowledgeable the staff was. One of their skin therapists performed what they call face mapping on me (it’s free…you can just go in and request it!), which divides the skin into 14 zones and based on the skin therapists’ observations and your concerns specific products are recommended. There was not one question, whether it be about my skin and its level of hydration and texture or about a specific ingredient in one of the Dermalogica products, that the woman who helped me wasn’t able to answer — may seem small, but I couldn’t even begin to count how many times I’ve been beauty product shopping and unable to get a coherent product answer! Stress Relief Candle Votive ($14) — it’s formulated with Lavender, Green Tea, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Sandalwood. Oddly enough though it smelled very minty to me.
Body Therapy Favorites ($41) — I haven’t tried this myself, but if you’re a fan of the line this set gives you two signature products at more than 50% off ($85 value). The set contains the Conditioning Body Wash and the Body Hydrating Cream.
Holiday Favorites Kit ($35) — This kit comes in a black cosmetic travel pouch with .5 oz Pre-cleanse, .45 oz. Microfoliant, .3 oz. Gentle Cream Exfoliant, and .25 Skin Hydrating Booster. The packaging is neutral which makes it good for you, a lady friend, or a man in your life. I got “prescribed” the Microfoliant when I was getting my Mapping done and was given a sample which I used ASAP when I got home. It’s a powder exfoliant that you mix with water. It’s super gentle. I rarely exfoliate because my skin is very sensitive, but this worked — adios flacky chin!
