Don’t get me wrong I’ve been a Valentino fan for years, and that is why I receive their online boutique e-mail from time to time. I was excited to link onto the 40% off newsletter but was soon gasping at how some of these bags could possibly bear the legendary label. The black and white cow looking tote, for example, resembles a lunch box that could practically”moo” off the screen. Then there’s the tacky green patent leather tote with the diamante cheetah chain embellishment–there is just so many things wrong with this bag that I don’t think there’s even a way to salvage it. Would someone please tell me which direction the Valentino design team is going because they seem almost schizophrenic–one minute they create these gorgeous intricate bags and the next minute I find these outdated and overpriced items on their website? The patent leather cheetah bag is now $1497 after 40% off and the “cow” bag is now $777 after the 40% discount at the Valentino online boutique.
