Hilary Duff’s Fendi Mia Borsa Grande

The Fendi Mia Borsa Grande ($2,050) must be one of the hottest selling Fendi bags right now judging by how prominently I saw it on display at Bloomingdale’s last week. It’s an OK staple bag, that probably won’t ever hit the high notes of a baguette which will allow it to be worn for a few seasons without it looking dated. I was however surprised to see that the price was in the $2,000-range given how few details there are to this bag. The chain is nice and the pleating is OK; I could do without the big Fendi logo, but I understand that having their logo front and center is a big part of the bag’s appeal for many shoppers, so I forgive them for placing it there. Seriously though, this is never going to be a classic bag that you’ll be dying to hand down to your daughter and it’s not super hot and trendy like the wonderfully original Peek-a-Boo (which I love!), so why this price?? Lower it $1000, even $700 and it would be a good buy, but at this price I just don’t see it.

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. They didn’t even bother putting protective feet on the bottom, which I expect in a $2000 flat bottomed bag. Not worth it.

  2. I wonder how much her moocher brit hubby had to fence to pay for that to look rich in the American media. Far more than its immigration papers are worth, and far more than dead brit economics. But certainly the price of a new boat and dead kids.

  3. I was at the Fendi Store not too long ago (drooling over the Peekaboos) and I distinctly remember that this bag is actually $1790. That’s still not 700-1000 dollars less as you wanted, Sharon, but it’s an improvement.

  4. Hmm..maybe you saw non-leather version? The leather version above is $2,050. They do have zucca-print and others that are canvas that cost less…

  5. Actually, her fiance is Canadian – a NHL player and ALSO the heir to the Brick furniture chain empire. So I don’t think he needs to mooch off Ms. Duff.

  6. “Canadians”, the occupiers of Canada who call themselves that, are moochers off America, Gi. A moocher like you, boatsh*t. Is Gi your real name? When America takes Canada back its little family “empire” won’t be worth a drop in the ocean where it will be, and your media “industry” will be out of business.

You’re a moocher who doesn’t even know what Canada means or where Canada is, just like ALL of YOU boatsh*t moochers. God save the queen, you little mooching boatsh*t, right? Right. It’s your future here, boatsh*t moocher. Your ONLY future.

Your immigration papers are NOT in order and are, indeed, forgeries, like ALL of YOU, BOATSH*T.

  7. Thanks for replying, Sharon! But I remember that the leather version was $1790. The zucca version is 1180. These are both prices that were for the large Mia (as opposed to the smaller version). I have a SA write down the pricing and item numbers on her card in case I wanted to go back. Perhaps Neimans and the Fendi Boutiques quote different prices due to the different buyers involved? I know that the Nubuck Peekaboo I was looking at was only 1980 in the Boutiques and 2240 in the department store.

  8. America and Arayna need to stay off drugs so the rest of us don’t have to be bothered with their odd, nothing-to-do-with-this rants about Canada and immigration papers. It’s a purse, for crying out loud, we don’t care about your mental illness. I’d rather read comments from losers trying to sell something!

  9. Wow…just goes to show you have to shop around as prices aren’t the same everywhere! I actually always find the best deals are overseas because you get the tax back which is very high (in Germany for example it’s nearly 20%), so it’s not uncommon to save 300-400$. I’m so dying for a peek-a-boo..genius idea! But I can’t justify spending the price on a fad bag that will be dated in two seasons…but if I had endless handbag budget, it’s totally worth the price. The design is genius!

  10. I choose not to feed the trolls 🙂 Sharon – I may buy the Peek-a-boo, my Muse 2 is dead and I’m looking for a formal work bag in black and it fits the bill well!

  11. Erin and Gi and their anonymous counterparts must really feel secure mooching off of America, telling them they’re taking drugs and are mentally ill. They must be those proper eurasians you see in their movies. The anonymity of the internet must feed their fantasies of security against their own trolling.

When America does come to get Canada back, will they be calling Americans drug dependents and mentally ill and trolling anonymously on the internet like Gi about their false superiority and place and home and history and future? Will they tell themselves their precious holey empire is the true victor?

It would be fascinating to read how Gi and the gang would spin that to the proper politik.

Perhaps Gi and the gang should try to focus instead on purses and handbags than their reality. It’s much safer for them that way to stay on topic instead of wandering homelessly and pointlessly without aim or future.

  12. Gi, Erin, the only trolls here are YOU. Whatever your name really is, you’re probably the same person. The expression is “fill the bill”. If you were from America you’d probably know that. This is a forum for talking about handbags and purses. If you don’t know what “boatsh*t” means, it probably means you’re one. Leave everyone alone and stop trolling, boatsh*t. Go home and leave everyone alone, boatsh*t. What other way do you need that to be said. Handbags and purses, please. No more trolling.

  13. Ok Sharon get over yourself. Not sure what your qualifications are however, with that said…. I just bought this bag from the Fendi store in Las Vegas. Fact: it was priced at $1,700. I disagree with you. This bag will be a timeless piece that has enough room to carry your so called “baguette” in among other necessities. Did you see Rear Window. Of course not, otherwise you would have recognized that this bag could be your “just in case” I spend the night out bag.

  15. I saw this bag (zucca print) at the Fendi store and the quality of the zipper was a bit disappointing -very hard to open almost to the point where it was scratching my hands…did any of you who have seen this bag have had the same problem? I’m in China so wondering if quality will be better in the states??? maybe not, but wanted to know your thoughts on where would be best to buy and your general thoughts about the quality of this fabulous bag…limited guarantee?

  16. Does anyone know how heavy this bag is? Is the leather and chain strap going to make it heavy? I’m thinking if I put my netbook in here will that be too heavy to carry around.
