The Stubbs & Wootton store on Madison Avenue in NYC recently had a preview trunk show of its fall Michael Bastian guest-designed collection and I was immediately drawn to these gray wool felt slip-ons with embroidered tassel insignia trim. This style of shoe–save for my Tod’s moccasins–aren’t usually my cup of tea, but for these I would gladly make an exception. A nice mate to a tuxedo or jeans and a button-down, these Stubbs make the transition from day to night seamlessly. I’d be wary of wearing them in the rain or snow–the fabric seems to absorb moisture easily and may not maintain its richness if not gently cared for. But on a positive note, they’re extremely comfortable and, despite its yet-to-be determined price (I’m thinking close to $1,000), will make for a long-lasting addition to your shoe wardrobe.
I`d ask my husband to wear a pair of these studds, iLove `em and I bet they`re soooo comfortable 🙂
