Red Valentino Bow Tees: Snob or Slob?

While there’s no shortage of beautiful Vera Wang and Valentino pieces, neither are brands that I would traditionally wear; Red Valentino and Vera Wang Lavender however are a whole other story. Both lines are cheeky, fun, and modern, but they tie nicely into their higher-end counterparts. Many people have been critical of what Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have been doing over at Valentino, notably that they haven’t been utilizing core Valentino touches like the color red and bows, so I’m curious what Valentino fans make of the contemporary Red line. Red extensively incorporates many of Valentino’s signatures, but interprets them in casual ways. Personally I’m particularly fond of the over-sized bows that many of the new tees have (they retail for around $200). The line definitely skews on the younger, bolder side and the pieces are certainly not for everyone, but there’s a kitschy-ness that I can’t help but like!
