Roger Vivier Fall 2010 Bags

The big news for fall, aside from Roger Vivier creative director Bruno Frisoni’s men’s wear-influenced collection of shoes (see Couture Snob for more), is that the brand’s Carla bag–named after Carla Bruni-Sarkozy–has been renamed the Miss Viv (for Vivier) starting with the fall collection (of course she’ll always be associated with the brand). And for the new Miss Viv pieces, they’ve been redone to include small shoulder and hobo styles, not to mention one ultra-feminine version trimmed with pearls. But back to the goodies: feathers, fur and suede are ensuring that the fall collection is going to be one of the most luxe ever–perfect given the upcoming season’s return to glamour. One of my favorite pieces is the classic Roger Vivier long buckle clutch that’s been reworked with wool and Lesage gold military embroidery. It’s a nod to Rococo and the trim is utterly gorgeous! Day bags, most of which were shown in suede, were beautiful and practical–with subtle buckle accents and one featuring a pretty red-and-black trim. Last but not least, check out the divine fox fur clutch: it looks like one big pillow!
