Once again, Sarah Jessica Parker proved she’s the master at mixing and matching–no matter what the occasion. Elie Saab Haute Couture with L’Wren Scott and Alexander McQueen? If that sounds like a mouthful–not to mention a fashion disaster waiting to happen–that’s because it easily could have been. But not on SJP, whose “Sex and the City 2” film arrives May 27. The colors of SJP’s outfit married beautifully last night, when she arrived at Lincoln Center for the 2010 New York City Ballet spring gala. She covered up her Elie Saab blush-toned and hand embroidered couture cocktail dress with a blue taffeta L’Wren Scott jacket that was cropped just at the right length to make it formal enough for a black-tie evening. Keeping her bottom half in neutral tones, Parker slipped into a pair of Alexander McQueen spring collection crystal heart peep toe heels ($1,275 available at Forty Five Ten and Zappos) that kept her look vibrant but not overdone. Finishing it all off was a $3,795 silver/cobalt blue Judith Leiber “Jali” Ritz Fizz clutch (fully beaded with leather cut-outs wrapped around) created in an ongoing collaboration with Indian designer Suneet Varma.
