Jimmy Choo Vs. Spongebob Squarepants

Are you a Spongebob fan? I am! That’s why I immediately recognized Spongebob’s twin brother on Net-a-porter sporting pony skin shorts. This glamorous relative of Spongebob travels around town with an exotic Asian last name like Choo–and bares an unmistakable resemblance to Spongebob in both shape and color. Although the sight of this cartoon-like clutch puts a smile on my face everytime I see it, as it could literally grow limbs and keep a pet snail, but as a fashion accessory I find its practicality questionable. The only way to open the clutch is to detach the neon yellow leather top to the pony skin leopard print bottom. For me, the rule of thumb with clutch bags is, it should allow its carrier to open/close it in an easy and graceful manner. When you need to open/close your clutch with both hands, it basically limits your freedom to cocktail sipping or nose powdering. Or maybe you’ll want to grow a third limb yourself.

  1. Bhaha!!! That made my night!!!! I first saw this on Net-A-Porter.com and was like eh!!! Now that you made the Spongebob Reference I will never be able to look at it the same again, without singing the Theme Song!!!!

  2. It’s reaaaaally ugly, and overpriced to boot. The Jimmy Choo bag line really needs to start stepping up, lately they have been quite disappointing.
