Alexander Wang Darcy Hobo

Darcy_Alexwang.jpg

Who knew when Alexander Wang launched the Rocco Mini Duffle that his leathergoods business would be so worshipped, let alone successful? Well it is, and for fall Wang is introducing a one-stop-shop hobo for all the fashion-forward ladies in his life. The Darcy slouchy hobo bag is fashioned from 100% lambskin and is soft and supple to the touch. The shoulder strap is very comfortable and the bag is positioned high enough to sit comfortably right under the arm. Wang told me it’s already becoming one of his most popular styles. What I love most about this bag is that it’s not too precious or dainty; just like Wang’s clothes, they’re feminine but with a hard, sleek edge to them–in other words, don’t be afraid to really use this bag ladies! The leather is sturdy and slouches in just right. And as with most signature Wang bags, this one features a base of metal grommets.

$850, available at Barneys New York. Call Korey to pre-order 469-441-1583. Delivery in July!

  1. Ooooh! Thanks for this post, I much prefer this over the Rocco. Could you also indicate the dimensions of it? I can’t really be sure with just the close-up of the bag. Thanks so much! 🙂

  2. I never liked the Rocco. Aside from the studs on the bottom, it was just another boring, black handbag. Sorry for not drinking the Rocco Kool-aid.

As far as this one goes, it’s too big. I know that big handbags are all the rage. Heck, I even have a couple that I can fit my fashion magazines in, but I do have limits. I can just imagine myself dumping out this bag to find my keys and cell phone. The bag would probably fit my six year old son.

  3. This is a big improvement over the Rocco (which I did not dislike, but definitely thought was overrated). I love the leather he’s using- that thick pebbled lambskin is amazing! I do think it might be an inch too long but would love to see it on someone so I can understand the proportions.

  4. Is the strap drop on this bag long enough to carry over the shoulder? I love it and love the Rocco also!

  5. Personally I bought Alexander wang’s travel duffle and it is lovely. What suprises me that it is made in China. Does all his bags made in china? lovely as it is, i cannot comprehend it…Where are the good old days where American labels are made in America itself….anyway about this bag the handle seems to have a tight space…definitely opting this out

  6. No one ever states how a bag closes or is secured. It’s the most important thing about a bag to my mind. And if this is another yet open bag, I’m over it already! If a bag is made in CHINA say so. I’m over that, too. Little children making bags. Miley Cyrus jewelry with cadmium. When is that train going to stop? I’ll pay the big bucks for a bag that is produced by people who don’t abuse others. The fashion industry needs to wake up. And soon. And even people who have money are going to get tired of paying the same for a bag as they do for the first car for their kid. VALUE. Not cheap but in proportion to the quality one is buying. Wake up consumers. Seriously.
