It’s official: Phoebe Philo’s Céline luggage bag is a resounding hit! In fashion circles, where the ladies have their pick of the litter when it comes to designer bags, everyone I know has been paying full price–yes, full price–for this new must-have. Last week I was with my friend Amanda Brooks and I couldn’t help but stare at her new Céline luggage medium shopper tote in gorgeous grey suede. The bag is from the Céline pre-fall, which just started arriving in stores this week. Be forewarned: it’s not the lightest bag in the world. The leather is rigid and thick and therefore has a weighty heft to it when empty. But don’t you just love its simple shape and unadorned aesthetic? It blends in beautifully with fall’s return to a more classic and minimal palette–both in colors and designs. Kitten heels and tailoring are back in–and this bag is a superb complement.

I’ve seen several pictures of another Celine bag carried during Fashion Week by some Europeans. It was a chic shoulder bag, which I loved. I wondered If that bag will be sold in the states? It was a very understated bag. Do you know the one I’m speaking off?? It was in a lot of photos.
Anonymous, I think the bag you are referring to is the flap bag (can be worn cross-body or shoulder). I don’t know the official name of the bag, but I did see it IRL in the Celine boutique in South Beach, Miami (colors were blue, red, black and brown). It is gorgy, but pricey. If I remember correctly, it is @$3200… I know BG carries some Celine bag (the luggage bag above), but not sure about the flap.

i must be the only person, or one of the few, who does NOT think this bag is all THAT. I understand the minimalism and it looks like such a luxe piece, and ive seen and felt Celine bags before, and their leather is tdf… but this one i am just not in love with…
and yes, after reading the comment about the face, i scrolled back up to look at the bag again, and now i see it too, hehe.
I have this bag and there’s a utility to it I just don’t understand: on the back, top, there is a little peice of leather, it looks like maybe you would….. tie a silk scarf to it? I don’t understand it’s purpose but I know it’s there for a reason. Any ideas Bag Snob?
