It’s official: Phoebe Philo’s Céline luggage bag is a resounding hit! In fashion circles, where the ladies have their pick of the litter when it comes to designer bags, everyone I know has been paying full price–yes, full price–for this new must-have. Last week I was with my friend Amanda Brooks and I couldn’t help but stare at her new Céline luggage medium shopper tote in gorgeous grey suede. The bag is from the Céline pre-fall, which just started arriving in stores this week. Be forewarned: it’s not the lightest bag in the world. The leather is rigid and thick and therefore has a weighty heft to it when empty. But don’t you just love its simple shape and unadorned aesthetic? It blends in beautifully with fall’s return to a more classic and minimal palette–both in colors and designs. Kitten heels and tailoring are back in–and this bag is a superb complement.
