Essie Summer 2010 Collection

Dying to try Essie’s Cocoa Mauve (called Demure Vixen)! Their Summer collection looks fab because it combines classics that most everyone can pull-off like Knockout Pout (glistening pink), and Vermillionaire (red-orange), with more daring colors like the aptly named Pretty Edgy (grass green), with some soft, playful shades in between. The collection just launched ($8 each), and Essie Weingarten, who still comes up with the awesome names for all her shades, remarked that “this year’s runways reflected the ease of the season with youthful, upbeat clothing in feminine fabrics. I was inspired by the vivid pastels at Versace and the splashy florals at DKNY. I created this collection to reflect the youthful, fun-to-wear flirty frocks.” She suggests ditching the matchy-matchy this season and wearing a different shade on your toes than you do on your nails. I rarely have the same shade on my hands as I do on my toes actually, because I constantly switch the color on my hands whereas I’ll keep the color on my toes (usually crimson red), constant for a good three weeks.
How about you? Do your toe and finger colors usually match?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. So weird… I literally had this conversation with a friend just this weekend. I agree, crimson red is so hot for your pedi but I’m not crazy about it on my fingertips. I often go with a pale pink, neutral color for my hands. I think it’s fine to have different colors on your hands than on your feet, but I absolutely hate it when you see people with colors that clash (e.g. the girl with red on her toes and lilac on her fingertips…ugh)
