Jessica Alba in Lanvin

Seriously, is there anything Jessica Alba can’t wear? Kudos to her stylist, Daniel Caudill, who has her style cues down to a tee. The latest example of Alba’s style prowess came last Thursday, when she attended the Paris premiere of her new film, “The Killer Inside Me.” For the occasion she chose a French-minded designer–Alber Elbaz–and his divine Lanvin frock. From the upcoming Fall 2010 collection, Alba slinked her way down the red carpet in a forest green (now that’s a color you don’t see everyday) techno stretch-wool cocktail dress with gathering at side and graphic neckline. Not wanting to take any risks, she accessorized with black leather shoes with beige elastic ankle strap, also by Lanvin. What I absolutely love, love, love about this dress–aside from the color–is the side ruching coupled with the simple front panel held together by spaghetti-thin ropes of fabric. It looks great with her updo pouf and is just such an unexpected look! Alba’s thin with a great frame, and this dress really highlights her toned legs and feminine shoulders.

  1. The square neckline and bagginess at the waist hides all of her curves. This lack of definition at the waist makes her lines look very straight — even mannish. Maybe boyish is a better word.
