Oh Pierre Hardy, how cheeky you can be! The French designer, revered for his namesake line of shoes and bags, created a very limited-edition bag (each is numbered and available exclusively at Colette in Paris) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of DC Comics. Hardy’s “Superman” bag is based on his recently-introduced optical illusionistic print–stacked cubes with white accents–that conjures up the art of Victor Vasarely but trimmed with the instantly recognizable Superman colors and Warner Bros.-approved badging. “It’s the great hero archetype! I like his double personality; he is also beautiful in Superman as in Clark!” said Hardy. “The bag is the reflection of both aspects; as if both identities were stacked. Talk about collector’s items with super powers!
