Proenza Schouler Resort 2011 PS1

Simply put: I love! It was only a matter of time before Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez expanded on the runaway hit that is their PS1 bag–and what better moment to do it than with resort? It’s the one season where designers can test new ideas, shapes and colors, and I think they’ve got a hit on their hands. I’ve long loved the shape of the bag but clearly have never been able to use one. That may change with the two new models–medium and large–making their debut in December. Love the classic tan suede version; it looks super rich and refined but at the same time young and carefree. I also like that it’s devoid of too much hardware, has plenty of roomy pockets and is soft-sided to conform to the goodies you fill it up with. Plus, who doesn’t love a good soft and contoured double handle? While Jack and Lazaro call their new bags the “weekender,” I think “must-have” is more apropos.

  1. I like this one. It will make its way into my wish list. Thank you for the heads up I can’t wait for December.

  2. Am I the only one who thinks this is an unimaginative hybrid of the original PS1 and the Mulberry Bayswater? I’m so disappointed. It doesn’t do justice to either.

  3. ^ ITA – Mulberry sort of copied the original PS1 with their Alexa (even though they claim to have thought it up themselves), and now PS is copying Mulberry’s Bayswater – really annoying.

  4. Well, if you’re die-hard fan of Proenza Schouler’s PS1, this is definitely your must-have! However, I find this closely resemble to Hermes travel size ” Drag ” bag, which has been around for decades…. This ” weekender” just lacks any original and exciting elements. I’ll pass.

  5. this is friggin ugly. and its so hard for me to say because i have 3 PS1’s and love them dearly… :'(
