All is not lost for Sarah Jessica Parker. The petite actress, who had more than a few fashion blunders while promoting “Sex & the City 2,” made a flawless, near-perfect entrance to the CFDA Awards. Who does she have to thank? The late, great Lee Alexander McQueen, whom she was on hand to honor and introduce his posthumous honoring with the Board of Directors’ Special Tribute Award. “His darkness was tempered by romance & light,” she said on stage. “He had the most beautiful hands I have ever seen.”

Specifically, SJP wore a Prefall 2010 Galle print fil coupe long evening dress that McQueen designed prior to his suicide. She left her neckline wide open, opting instead to accessorize with Stephen Russell earrings and muted bracelets. The cut of the gown easily added four inches to her height, while the print was both exotic and fashion-forward. Her hair was perfect–love the long tease cascading down the back–and the pouf was oh-so-divine.

At the ceremony, SJP told the celebrity-studded crowd that it was with “honor and great regret” that she was there to mark the contribution and creativity the designer gave to his industry. After her remarks, a procession of somber models presented McQueen’s final collection that left barely a dry eye in the room.
