Valentino Feather-Trimmed Satin Sandals: Snob or Slob?

I’ve usually found that sandals designed with just a thin front strap are uncomfortable. They don’t hold your feet in securely, so your toes end-up holding on for dear life when you walk and as a result they’re also unflattering, especially if you don’t have perfectly shaped-toes. The back-bone design of these Valentino Feather-trimmed Satin Sandals however is just the icing on a very bad cake! The feathers topping these wacky shoes are black rooster and I bet they wouldn’t survive more than one night out on the town. I can just imagine feathers getting caught in something while walking or even more likely under the shoe itself! I’m also not understanding why in the world khaki satin was chosen. Perhaps if this shoe was all black it would be more wearable or if the feathers were used in moderation, just in the back for example. As is, this shoe strikes me as not only uncomfortable, but impractical and way more of a show piece than anything that would be flattering when worn.

What do you think of this sandal? Snob or Slob? If you vote Snob, you’re in luck because the shoe is, not surprisingly, on sale:-)

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. I’m torn on these – I think I need to see them on – but mostly lean toward slob.

The khaki might look good on dark tan skin tones, but I just can’t picture how those feathers (rooster … tres exotic …) would fan out on an ankle. Typically women try to remove any sparse black hairy looking stuff on their body, cough cough.
