The Valentino Fringed Leather Bucket Bag
($3,340) that Emma Watson is sporting may well be one of the most unfortunate fringe and stud-accented bags I’ve ever seen – certainly the most unfortunate one in this price range. As if the stud-finished fringe wasn’t bad enough, there’s a cheapening bow on the strap, but the real clincher is that the fringe is only on one side of the bag. Even though I may not like this style, I’m assuming that if you buy this bag it’s because you like the look of the fringe, so wouldn’t you feel chipped having it only on one side?
The bag does have one thing going for it – it’s certainly eye-catching, which isn’t necessarily all that easy for a nearly all-black bag. Whether it’s eye-catching in a good way or bad way however, that’s up for debate.
What do you think about this Valentino Bucket Bag? Snob or Slob? Either way, from the looks of it Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s
younger, “hipper” vision for Valentino seems like it’s here to stay.

Maybe if it has another shape, smaller, with a better strap and without the bow, I’d like it a bit more. But like this is a big NO for me.
“chipped” isn’t the word you were looking for. I think you mean gyped, which isn’t a word you should use.

obviously none of you can understand fashion outside of an american perspective. she’s english… she’s doing the hip/victorian look- which Ms Westwood seems to have done quite well with.
I agree with srella and was also thinking scruffy British Victorian. The bag works quite well with this style. I love fringed and studded bags as anyone who has ever seen my Gucci extravaganza can attest to and when you pull it off stylewise it really is a stunner. I think she is rocking it. I also would have to see the construction of the back to know if it has been significantly cheapened.
