Beauty Look Marchesa Spring 2011

Hands down – along with Proenza Schouler and Ports 1961 — my favorite show of the season was Marchesa. From the ornate Oriental-inspired gowns and cocktail dresses, to the beautiful makeup and hair looks (complete with sparkling hair accessories!), the collection was from start to finish, flawless. The beauty look was created by Frédéric Fekkai for hair and Le Métier de Beauté for makeup.

Renato Campora, lead stylist for Frédéric Fekkai, created what he called a “modernized rockabilly style for this seasons’ Marchesa presentation.” He began by applying the Fekkai Essential Shea Tame & Style Pot de Crème to the hair. Then, he flipped the head over and braided the hair out so that it fell perfectly on top of the head. Next, Campora secured the braid into a bun at the crown and smoothed the hair using the Fekkai Essential Shea Ultra-Rich Mask and applied Fekkai Silky Straight Smooth Finish for protection and shine. To tie into the collection, an embellished accessory designed by Marchesa, was placed on the hair. Jump for the low-down on makeup!

Talia Shobrook let the Le Métier de Beauté team and used products from the new Marchesa for Le Métier de Beauté line. She started with the Sheer Illumination Highlighter in the t-zone and under the eyes. Then, she used a white matte cream shadow on the eye followed by a taupe shadow over the lid and crease. The same taupe was used under the cheekbones for contour, while a darker taupe was used on the corner of the eye to visually enlarge them.
Lastly, before applying mascara, a white eyeliner was used to create a “V” shape in the upper and lower inner corners.

The look was under-stated, so tie into that, Shobrook lightly tapped foundation onto the lips. She then applied, on the inner part of the center of the lips, Kona and Bali lip colors from the La Luna Palette in the Marchesa for Le Métier de Beauté collection.
