Healthy Snack Rundown

Does anyone else read New York Magazine’s celebrity diet logs and ask themselves how these people can eat three meals a day with no snacking in between? I could only dream of being able to do such a thing! Certainly it doesn’t help that my parents live but a block away from my apartment and that I’m often working out of their kitchen…how can anyone avoid snacking when your mama is baking a chocolate layer cake next to you at 2pm? That said, it can’t be Neuhaus and Lindt all the time if I want to fit into (and look good), in my body con outfits, so I try to stick to as many healthful snacks as I possibly can.

Countless chips advertise being “healthy” and for the most part that all means bub-kiss, because any company can print that on their packaging. Of course, the healthiest snack would be fruits or veggies, but for times that call for a chip/bar fix, here are some tasty options that won’t do all that much damage! And don’t forget, when looking at nutrition facts, always look at portion size in relation to calories, fat, sodium, etc. as some brands consider 5 chips to be one serving!

Lastly, rumor has it that Ben & Jerry’s is working on a new anti-aging antioxidants ice cream flavor. I wonder if there’s any chance it will be lower in cholesterol, fat, and sugar than their regular flavors – here’s to wishful thinking!
